I entered into photography in high
school (how many years ago, I won't say!), working with film and chemicals in a traditional wet-process
darkroom. For me, the magic was being in the dark, watching what I saw in my mind come to light, rising through the developer, and materializing to exist forever on paper. Everything-my attempts to express my vision, or the moment I had kidnapped from a day-was recorded and caught, to be witnessed and revisited indefinitely.
Fine art black-and-white photography continued to be my specialty throughout college at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and when I entered the professional world fully after completing my BFA in 2004, my education continued in it’s new incarnation as I learned to master digital photography and portraiture.
The features of photography that I always loved shifted in this new realm from the spell being cast by mysteries of the darkroom to the enchantment of absorbing the occurrences around me. But the result is the same; a captive moment, to which we bear witness, and can revisit indefinitely.
My practice is based on intuition and observation, and I
deeply enjoy providing clients with a comprehensive story,
or a meaningful collection of moments. I hope you’ll let me
explore doing so for you!
